Very Rare First Day Cover - CNR 6060

(Commemorates 6060's Trip from Jasper to Vancouver for Steam Expo '86)

In celebration of ex CNR's Mountain Locomotive #6060's trip to Steam Expo, a commemorative envelope with a special issue Canada Post stamp, was issued by the 6060 Society and each envelope was carried on board 6060 (see close up photo) on her 'first official run' after restoration in Jasper, Alberta.  Each envelope was sequentially numbered (this envelope was #0013 - see second photo ) and individually signed by Harry Home, 6060's engineer.  The locomotive was supposed to arrive in time for the "Grand Parade of Steam", the opening event of Steam Expo '86.  But last minute preparations delayed her departure from Jasper and she arrived in Vancouver at the Steam Expo site a couple of days later pulling a string of new Alberta grain cars.  This envelope and stamp combination is extremely rare.  Envelope will be shipped in a cardboard backed envelope.
