CPR  Fairbanks Morse Builder's Plate #2690

This builder's plate was removed by CPR from their Fairbanks Morse B unit #4453 in 1984 when the unit was retired. Built by CLC in 1952 with serial #2690 as class DFB 16a.

Photo #3 was taken at Calgary, AB by Bob Loat in 1966. Paint scheme: Maroon & Grey "Block" style. Photo #4 was taken at Revelstoke, BC by D.J. Johnston in 1979 and shows the unit as CPB16-4 after being converted to Robot Control Car #15. Paint scheme: Red/white multi-mark on blue carbody. Photo #5 was taken by Claude Prutton in 1982 showing #4453 in a mainline consist at Castle Mountain, AB.

The plate comes with the "Powered by Fairbanks Morse" bar also taken off the same unit. Both plates were purchased by the seller directly from the CPR in the mid 70's from their 'Bygones Shop'. These plates are very rare and seldom are for sale. There are some very small score marks on the mounting holes and one small gouge in the upper left side (see photo). The 'Powered by FM' plate lettering is also in very good shape. Both plates are in their 'as bought' condition but are easy to clean.
