Canadian Pacific Railway Parlour Car Conductor's Badge
(Bought directly from CPR in the mid 70's)
CPR exited the passenger train business in the early 1970's. This is a brand new badge purchased in 1977 directly from their 'Bygones' shop.
The Parlour Car was introduced on North American railroads as an upgrade from regular coach class. These cars provided superior comforts, amenities and service to a standard coach. Each Parlour Car had it's own conductor.
Extremely rare to find one of this vintage in 'un-issued' condition. Measures 4" long and 1" high with pins on the back of the badge (see photo #2) for attaching through the front of the cap. Titles are in raised black lettering on a solid brass plate.
