Canadian Pacific Railway Gateman's Cap
(Bought directly from CPR in the mid 70's)
CPR exited the passenger train business in the early 1970's. This gateman's cap is one of the rarest railroad caps to find and was purchased in 1977 directly from CP 'Bygones' inventory. This cap used by railway employees at railroad grade crossings before automated signaling was installed.
Embroidered 'Gateman' and gold braid on front of cap. Inside leather brim is in excellent shape - no wear or cracking.
Overall condition of cap is very good considering its age. Size 7 1/2. Manufactured by Wm. Scully in Montreal (see photo #2).
