Canadian Pacific Railway Silver Plated Baker
(very rare – bought directly from CPR in the mid 70's)
CPR exited the passenger train business in the early 1970's. They sold all of their silverware used in their dining cars through their own retail shop "CP Bygones". This 7" long x 5" wide x 1 1/4" high medium size baker was purchased directly from CP Bygones and stored for 30+ years. Used in the dining room to serve hot dishes. Underside of tray engraved with item #13780 and crested with "Elkington & Co." (Sheffield, England) and "A.T. Wiley, Montreal" (Canadian distributor). CPR scripted logo on front side of baker (see photo). This style and size of baker dates back to the 1920's-1930's. Item was quadruple plated and has stood up well for its decades of use and is in very nice original condition. Has a few minor scratches on the inner flat portion of the tray and has a number of very small nicks around the outer edge of the baker (see photo).
