Canadian Pacific Railway – Silver Soup Tureen

(very rare – circa 1920's – bought directly from CPR in the mid 70's)

This soup tureen was purchased by this seller directly from CP Bygones and has been stored for 30+ years.  Tureen utilized in dining car service to serve soup and consommes etc.   With attached tray and two handles, it measures 5 1/4" in diameter.  Tureen is for one individual service.  Comes with lid but no ladle.  Overall height with cover in place is 4 1/2" and overall diameter is 7 1/2".   Item was initially quadruple plated. The underside of the tray is inscribed "Meriden B Co., International S Co". with a shield with a scale in the centre.  Underneath this inscription is "Hamilton, Canada, EPNS", and "Nickel Silver - Silver Soldered".  The inscription is very hard to photograph (see close up).  This style of tureen dates back to the 1910's-1920's. It is in extremely nice original condition.  The CPR logos are both still clear (see close up photos).
