Canadian Pacific Railway Silver Plated Syrup Jug
(very rare – circa 1920's – bought directly from CPR in the mid 70's)
CPR exited the passenger train business in the early 1970's. They sold all of their silverware used in their dining cars through their own shop called "CP Bygones". This silver plated syrup jug with attached tray was purchased directly from CP Bygones and stored for 30+ years. This jug was normally utilized for individual table servings of syrup for pancakes. Item is 5" long x 4" high and has hinged lid. Underside of item engraved "Elkington Plate" with their shield and three smaller logos underneath and also "A.T. Wiley & Co - Montreal". Item #20595 (see close up photo #3). CPR scripted logo on side of boat (see photo 2) . Dates back to the 1920's-1930's. Item was quadruple plated and has stood up very well for its decades of use. Has some minor scratches and nicks and one minor dent under the CPR logo to the lower left (see photos). Extremely difficult to photograph silver items due to reflections.
