Canadian Pacific Railway Observation Car Tail End Sign
(very rare – bought directly from CPR in the mid 70's)
CPR exited the passenger train business in the early 1970's. They sold all of their passenger train related items through their 'in house' retail shop "CP Bygones". They closed this shop in 1978. This 'tail end' sign is a full size replica of the original sign (17" x 20") displayed on the rear of "The Dominion" passenger train. It is a faithful silk-screen reproduction on 3/16" plexiglass commissioned by the CPR. The design is silk screened on the back of the sign. "The Dominion" was a CPR transcontinental passenger train and this design was used from 1954 to 1965 when this train was discontinued. Note: There may be a one or two very small imperfections in the white backing of the silk screening of the sign, but would only be noticeable at all if you illuminated the sign from behind. These imperfections can be filled in with a very small dab of white poster paint or white 'correction' tape used to correct typing mistakes.
