Canadian Pacific Railway Silver Plated Tea Strainer
(very rare – circa 1950's – bought directly from CPR in the mid 70's)
CPR exited the passenger train business in the early 1970's. They sold all of their silverware used in their dining cars through their own shop called "CP Bygones". This tea strainer was purchased directly from CP Bygones and stored for 30+ years. Strainer was used to catch tea leaves when serving tea in dining car service. Small CPR scripted logo on edge of rim. On bottom side of rim are initials 'LPNS', 'Internationals Co.' and 'Silver Soldered'. Item was quadruple plated and has stood up very well for its decades of use. Top side of the strainer is in excellent condition - no marks or scratches.
