Canadian Pacific Railway Telegraph Relay
(very rare – circa 1920's – bought directly from CPR in the mid 70's)
CPR exited the passenger train business in the early 1970's. They sold all of their silverware used in their dining cars and other miscellaneous items through their own retail shop "CP Bygones". A CPR telegraph set consisted of three separate items; a key, a sounder and a relay. The listing is for the relay only, manufactured by J. H. Bunnell & Co., and is the last model produced by the company. On the Bunnell ID plate, it is identified as 'Type 2-2' and '150 ohms' (see close up photo). In excellent shape considering it was last used in the late 1950's. Measures 7" long by 3" wide and 3 1/2" high and has a cast frame and synthetic non conductive base. Some paint fading on the two coils (see photos). Shipping fee includes insurance.
