Canadian Pacific Railway Telegraph Relay
(very rare – circa 1920's – bought directly from CPR in the mid 70's)
CPR sold off all of their passenger train and related items through their store 'CP Bygones' in the mid 1970's when VIA took over the transcontinental passenger train routes. A telegraph set consisted of three items: a key, a sounder and a relay. This listing is for the relay only. Manufactured by J.H. Bunnell & Co. NY. On the Bunnell ID plate (see photo #3), it states '150 ohms'. This relay is in excellent shape with only some paint missing off both coils (see photo #2). There is an inspection label on the underside (see photo #4) showing it was inspected in 1967 and looks to be in good operating condition. Measures 7" long by 3" wide and 3 1/2 inches high and has a cast frame and synthetic non conductive base. These relays are extremely hard to find.
