Canadian Pacific Railway Water Decanter
(very rare – bought directly from CPR in the mid 70's)
This item was bought directly from Canadian Pacific Railway in the 1970's when they exited the passenger train business. They sold all of their silverware used in their dining cars through their own shop called "CP Bygones".
This water decanter was used for water service in the dining cars. It has a silver plated lid (see photo #2) with the CPR script on it. The lid is hinged and the silver plated collar (see photo #3) can be removed for cleaning the decanter. The glass is very thick. Measurement: decanter is 8.5" high, 5" in diameter at the base and the lid is 2.25" in diameter.
Very hard to find item as it was only listed in two of their Bygones catalogues. Would make a very unique wine decanter.
